A landscape of wide open spaces and huge skies, Romney Marsh was reclaimed from the sea in the first millennium and is ideal for farmland, and pasture
for the famous Romney sheep. Many medieval churches and buildings survive from when it was a busy Middle Ages trade area.
The world-famous RH&D miniature steam railway, runs from Dungeness to Hythe with New Romney being the headquarters. Only a mile away is one of the best, quiet and sandy beaches in Kent, and this
runs into the largest shingle bank in the world at Dungeness, where there is an RSPB reserve.
Half a mile away, Littlestone Golf Course is a championship links course and 3 miles away is Lydd Airport, where day trips to France or site-seeing flights over The Marsh can be taken.
